The Chevy 502 Airboat Engine
This 500+ H.P. engine generates the kind of power necessary to spin a 4 blade composite prop.  The push generated is strong enough to move a heavily loaded 20 ft. airboat across dry ground.

The four blade composite propeller provides light weight and maximum powerat low R.P.M [more engine data

It delivers maximum thrust

502 cubic inches displacement
Over 500 horsepower on tap
High performance extras:

  • aluminum heads
  • stainless steel headers
  • dyno-tuned carbs & timing
  • fine tuned prop pitch
You can feel the power when a high performance engine is matched with a light weight high thrust prop.  The composite prop delivers maximum thrust at 2400 rpm which means high performance with reduced  noise.

A 500 h.p. AirRanger literally flies across the water and yet can carve turns as if were on rails.  The quick acceleration and confident turns are the product of years of testing and refinement that have culminated in the design of the new Air Ranger 2001.

A basic 14x8 AirRanger can be built for about $18,000.

The stock  American Air Ranger holds the land speed record for airboats which means that we know how to extract the maximum all terrain performance.

Over 30 years experience went into our latest hull design.  The hull is so rigid and durable that American can extend the best warranty in the industry.  The trick is to combine the rugged durability with performance.  The latest AR design meets this challenge.

This is the way the engines arrive at our boatyard
We used the latest instrumentation to maximize engine and prop output.
